COVID-19

Dear Parents

During the past two weeks we have been working throughout the school community to ensure best practice following HSE Guidelines. In order to make our approach as child-centred as possible, each individual teacher has been reinforcing important respiratory and hand washing etiquette.

The Board of Management and the school staff would be grateful if you continue to affirm your child’s good hygiene drills over the weekend.

• I ask you to please refresh your child’s hygiene pack (towel & hand gel) as frequently as you see fit.

• We have noticed minor anxiety in some children. As a result, there will be no announcements on our intercom system regarding COVID-19.

A resource which is worth considering is Dr Ronan Glynn’s family-friendly interview on RTÉ TV.

• Also, this pdf document came our way last week. We have been given permission for its use in our school by the company who prepared it.

While it is not a HSE document, it nevertheless highlights some of the main issues in a very positive and child-centred manner. Could we ask you to discuss its contents with your children during the weekend?

Thank you all for your co-operation at this time.

Maura Durkin, staff and BOM.
